We would like to share some quick updates. Our heartiest congratulations go out to Golden Dawn Tabernacle / Tabernaculo Emanuel / Pastor Isaac Noriega for achieving their Certificate of Occupancy for the new Fellowship Hall, situated at 414 E. Elvado Rd, Tucson, AZ 85756. They successfully met all the inspection criteria for permit T21CM09269, leading to official approval for the building’s occupancy. This monumental achievement has been met after months of church brothers laboring for free, proving to Pastor Isaac that they are indeed “part of the Bride” by volunteering many evenings and weekends over the last several years.
It’s comforting to note this development, considering the events of Sunday, July 9th, 2023 when Isaac concluded the evening service early and led the congregation to the new Fellowship Hall next door for its “dedication.” He proceeded to lead the congregation to sing and pray outside the building, then they were dismissed. However, the lack of a final permit had prevented the building’s usage until now as shown in the Certificate of Occupancy below.
The approved church fellowship hall blueprint plans are shown below, with the building size totaling 14,927 square feet:
We were initially puzzled by the aforementined events on July 9th, 2023, as the final permit approval had not yet been issued. However, our confusion was cleared up when we received multiple reports that Pastor Isaac Noriega had announced during last Wednesday’s church service that the new Golden Dawn Tabernacle Fellowship Hall would be dedicated again on Monday, August 7th, 2023 at 4:30 pm (Isaac is known to eat dinner early). A dinner reception will be held in the new fellowship hall following the dedication service.
What’s remarkable about July 9th and August 7th, you may wonder? Well, those are the dates of significance in Isaac’s life as they mark the death anniversary and birthday of his late wife, Lucy Noriega Rivera. In honor of her birthday, Isaac plans to celebrate by dedicating the fellowship hall on that very day.
Recent reports indicate that the church school classes have been temporarily suspended this week. Instead, the students were actively engaged in creating decorations for the grand event. They are using Lucy’s favorite colors and adorning lamps that will grace the reception tables, as the name Lucy is allegedly associated with light.
We extend our best wishes to the church and hope that they find occasional use for this new extravagant building, as their gatherings have been infrequent in the past. It’s refreshing to see a change in their routine.
However, it does raise a thought-provoking question: considering the church’s strict stance on labeling various aspects of the modern world as idolatrous, such as sports, celebrities, denominations, etc., some might argue whether dedicating a building in honor of the pastor’s late wife could be seen as idolatrous by their own standards. Perhaps it raises the possibility of future dedications, like books or photoshopped pictures?
