As previously reported, Golden Dawn Tabernacle church officials released a biography on Pastor Isaac Noriega. They titled the book “Time-Tested Memorials, The Life Story of Two Pioneers: Brother Isaac and Sister Lucy.” A scanned digital (and searchable) copy of this 280 page book is listed below:
Ethnicity and Race
Something peculiar about the book is how it describes the ethnicity of the Hispanic churches and characters as “Spanish.” It is a well-known fact that Isaac Noriega is primarily of Mexican heritage. His Noriega family line hails from Sonora, Mexico. While his father Clemente Noriega was born in Arizona, his grandfather Candido Noriega Urique was born in Ures, Sonora, Mexico (family tree below for reference).

Below is an excerpt from the book that describes the neighborhood Isaac grew up in called Golden Gate barrio.
Page 9 & 10: “In 1944, shortly after little Rachel’s death, Brother Isaac’s family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to the home of his grandmother in an all-Spanish neighborhood called “Golden Gate.” Brother Clemente built a temporary house made out of sheetrock for his family behind her home, which was located three houses down from the Apostolic church. Brother Branham would later visit this church, situated on the corner of Maricopa Street and Eighteenth Street, in 1948. A year after the family had been living in this neighborhood, Brother Danny Ramirez’s family moved into the house across the street, and Brother Isaac’s and Brother Danny’s paths crossed at three years of age. This was the start of a friendship that would continue for many years and would later have a great impact on Brother Isaac’s conversion to the Lord.”
“Although the family experienced some financial hardship, Brother Isaac recalls that God always made a way for them. Since the Spanish people who lived in the Golden Gate neighborhood were not well off, they shared an old, run-down car amongst themselves to do weekly errands. Brother Isaac reminisces: “You could see the street through holes in the floorboard, and while driving, you would be bouncing up and down! We were poor, but we were happy.””
Below are some history articles about the Golden Gate barrio. It is evident that it was a predominantly Mexican-American community.

Racial Inferiority Complex?
We are unsure what drove Isaac to refer to his community’s ethnicity as “Spanish” rather than Mexican, or Mexican-American. Technically, it was a Spanish-speaking community but it was predominantly Mexican. Perhaps this is how they referred to themselves since the term “Hispanic” did not come about until the 1970s? We welcome any insights and historical information that can help us examine this area further.
We do know that the white man was put on a pedestal in this community. Below is an excerpt from the book where Isaac Noriega talks about a white man visiting his community.
Page 10: It impacted him that Brother Branham showed so much love to the Spanish people as they came through the prayer line, by compassionately holding the people by the hand and even hugging the children up to him as he laid hands upon them and earnestly prayed for them. Brother Isaac will never forget the many signs, wonders, and miraculous healings that he witnessed after Brother Branham offered a simple prayer of faith.
After the services were over, Brother Isaac also remembers that Brother Branham joined the congregation under the tent the church had erected on Tonto Street to feed the people who had come from out of town to attend the services. The people were poor and had no place to eat, as Brother Isaac notes, “There were not even any restaurants in the area at all.” He recalls that it amazed him that a white man would come amongst the Spanish people and even eat with them.
The above excerpt implies that Isaac and the surrounding Hispanic community perceived themselves to be lesser than white people. This was likely tied to the racism that Hispanic and Latino people faced during that time and resulted in them feeling inferior.
Historically, Mexican Americans were considered to be second-class citizens, and not Americans as described below by a Mexican American solder who served in World War II.
“The majority of World War II Mexican American service members were second-generation Americans who had grown up in the anti-Mexican hysteria of the Great Depression. Thus, the transition for them into the role of an “American soldier” could at times be surprising. One man, Private Armando Flores of Corpus Christi, Texas, remembered the shock he felt the first time he was ever referred to as an “American soldier”, because, as he recalled later, “Nobody had ever called me an American before!”[311]

This systemic racism and inferiority complex affected the early church as described in the book. In the 1970s, the church community that Isaac Noriega pastored seemed to consider themselves as inferior second-class citizens as described in the book excerpt below:
Page 94: Brother Isaac met with the brothers from the church in his living room to discuss the purchase of this parcel of land. Just before the meeting, Brother Isaac was reading in First Samuel about Jonathan and his armor bearer’s courageous attack against the Philistines. He especially noted Jonathan’s noble words of faith that “there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.” 1st Samuel 14:6) As he conversed with the brothers, Brother Isaac informed them of the opportunity to purchase the land and to build a tabernacle. The men incredulously exclaimed, “We don’t have the money! How are we going to build a church? We’re Spanish people!”
The above statement appears to imply that people of Hispanic descent in the church were at a racial disadvantage and they and Isaac Noriega certainly believed it.
Conclusion
Perhaps “Spanish” is what Isaac Noriega used to refer to Mexican-American communities because that is what was used at the time. Or perhaps he is ashamed of his Mexican heritage. Regardless, it is undeniable that any mention of Isaac’s Mexican heritage is notably absent in the book.
If Isaac Noriega has a racial inferiority complex towards his own race, then that would explain the following:
Isaac Noriega has been known to refer to the Mexican immigrant congregants in the church who are in need, as the “little brothers” (link 1, link 2).
Isaac Noriega is against interracial marriages as shown in the Marriage Handbook he had the church publish.
What can we conclude from this behavior?
When someone feels a strong need to prove themselves due to feelings of insecurity, this behavior can be described in several ways depending on the context and the underlying psychological factors:
- Inferiority Complex: This is a term used in psychology to describe feelings of not being good enough and an intense need to prove oneself. It often involves a persistent sense of inadequacy and an overcompensation through performance or other means.
- Validation-Seeking Behavior: This refers to the behavior where individuals seek external validation for their worth or abilities. It often stems from a lack of self-esteem and the need to prove themselves to others.
- Overcompensation: This is a defense mechanism in which a person attempts to cover up their perceived weaknesses or insecurities by pushing themselves excessively in those areas.
- Impostor Syndrome: Though slightly different, this refers to an internal experience of believing that one is not as competent as others perceive them to be, and might lead to overexerting themselves to prove their worth.
- Perfectionism: In some cases, the need to prove oneself might be linked to perfectionist tendencies, where an individual sets excessively high standards for themselves and constantly tries to meet or exceed these standards to feel secure or successful.
Each of these terms describes slightly different aspects or causes of the behavior of feeling the need to prove oneself due to insecurity.
People who know Isaac Noriega will recognize these traits. His reluctance to publicly acknowledge his Mexican culture. His humble brags and obsession with having the largest church buildings. Isaac has attempted to validate his works by always trying to compare himself and his life to William Branham, and typing supernatural events such as the first, second, and third pull ministry to the three major church construction phases.
Page 183: Finally, the ministry in this local assembly today has followed the same pattern of having three pulls. In the first tabernacle, the First Pull of the ministry manifested itself as many were miraculously healed and were protected from serious injuries and even death. In the second tabernacle, the Word began to unfold in a greater way in a Second Pull ministry that discerned the hearts of the people service after service as lives were changed, the sick were healed, and the dead were raised. Finally, in the third tabernacle, the Third Pull stage of the ministry came to a climax as the Word began to unfold as never before. As the Holy Spirit explained the mysteries under the Seventh Seal, it became evident that God was now dwelling in man and was speaking through Sons of God. Unable to accept God’s pure Word, many have left the Word and have begun to malign and defame the ministry that God has established in the local assembly.
What do you think? Does Pastor Isaac Noriega have an insecurity complex? Furthermore, does he have a racial inferiority complex?

Branham sometimes referred to the Mexican heritage people as “Spanish people”. If Isaac tries so much to be like him, then of course he’s going to refer to them the same way.
Again Branham was against interracial marriages; some say it was due to his ties with the KKK.
Isaac preaches what Branham taught. It is safe to assume that the message that Isaac preaches has sprinkles of racism, white supremacy, misogyny and whatever else was taught by a Kentucky hillbilly that was heavily influenced by the KKK movement.
Branham was baptized and Ordained by the Imperial Wizard of the KKK Roy E. Davis. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Elonzo_Davis No doubt Branham was a racist. That’s why he didn’t like interracial marriages, didn’t like MLK and JFK, and also called black people serpent seed.
Isaac and his minions also show signs of racism carrying on these same believes. One minion said that if a black man isn’t a believer in the message then they should all be locked up.
What I will be writing for my comment is a true account or experience as my Lord God brings it to my memory!
My husband referred to Isaac Noriega as “The Bishop of Tucson”.
My husband had respect for him, however Mr. Noriega did not have respect for my husband! And he absolutely did not respect me! He criticized and ridiculed my way of parenting my children, he would bring it to the attention of my husband, hoping my husband would “correct “ me!
He called 2 of my sons “intellectuals “. He once asked my oldest daughter if she would like to be his daughter??? That he would buy her anything she wanted if she said “yes” My daughter said, NO! This conversation happened after Mr. Noriega’s daughter had passed away.
He disliked 1of my sons, as to call him a double minded person, However that son worked and installed flooring in one of his homes
An account that comes to my mind is when Mr. Noriega offered to my husband, his home that he was currently living in. Mr. Noriega was willing to give us the house NOT sell us the house if my husband would close down the church , where my husband pastored and become his assistant pastor!! My husband emphatically declined the offer!!!
As my Lord God brings to my remembrance these accounts I will post them! Thank you for reading!
… Claro esas mas facil permanencer voluntariamente engañados, a escapar del engaño.
FYI whenever GDT refers to “ opening of the word” or “revelation of the word” they just mean Isaac came up with a new set of rules to choke the congregation with. That’s all.
And also when they say that some people could not grasp the “pure living word” and started to leave is just people that have not killed their conscience to believe His lies and his new ways of manipulation. That’s all. It’s simple. They just have to put their cult jargon to it to appease themselves.
Yes truth indeed.
Isaac has manipulated the people he speaks for God. If you so much as get your own child a car and you didn’t ask Isaac first..
Then “the car is cursed and will be used for sin”…then there you are as a teenager driving the car your parents bought you praying for mercy not to crash because Isaac said what he said.
Same with dating..you don’t ask Isaac and he finds out ..
There you are waiting for the break-up .. because Isaac cursed it.
Never mind that your parents approve of it
It’s all about Isaac.
But all you people need to do is walk away and into the only true Joy found in Jesus. He will get you through. I promise. I k ow it’s hard because all you’ve known is GD.
That should open your eyes to the level of manipulation and leverage Isaac has and soon to be his successor The Prince Mateo
Ok ….so I was at that meeting…my dad was a waste a prominent person ..I was 14 yrs old ath the maybe 15…I can’t recall..I remember they talked about the purchase of the land and the plan to build a church…me and Michael Ramirez would go and help Joe duron …clearing the lot ..I remember when they took the vote to name the the church…I did not cast a vote as I thought I was to young ..to cast a vote..Isaac looked at me and asked for my vote…I am posting this to present a true history of events…I was there from the beginning..
