Psalm 100:1-5 Make a Joyful Noise
“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
Psaml 150:3-6 Praise Him
“Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: Praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: Praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: Praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.”
Golden Dawn currently has over 500 members, with hundreds more having left and been excommunicated over time. Amidst this considerable amount of former and present members, numerous individuals possess exceptional talents. However for a large number, regrettably, many remain largely undiscovered, undeveloped and underutilized. This represents a profound loss, with missed opportunities spanning education, career advancement, and potential income, leaving many relegated to menial jobs or confined to “domestic” roles. However, there’s another dimension to this scenario—the natural artistic talents strangled within the church, spanning sports, painting, crafts, and notably, music. This article will focuses on singing (choir) and music (band), examining it as yet another means for Golden Dawn Tabernacle’s leadership to exert control.
GDT Unwritten Music Policy
Innate talents are often stifled within the church or confined to the church’s strict agenda. A closer look reveals how this suppression operates. The vast array of music genres in Golden Dawn are strictly prohibited. Pastor Isaac Noriega has long preached that any music diverging from Christian hymns is considered worldly. His criticisms have even extended to classical music, and more recently, he has condemned contemporary Christian music as secular. The church’s music policy is not only restrictive in terms of genre but also instrument choice. Worship music in the church is confined to the piano and organ, with very few other instruments permitted for song specials or band performances. Specifically, bass guitars, and indeed almost all types of guitars (except classical/ acoustic types), along with drums and keyboards, are prohibited. This severely limits the musical avenues available to the youth for exploration and learning. The instruments that are typically allowed are string instruments such as violins, cellos, violas and wind instruments like flutes, saxophones, clarinets, and trumpets. At one point, decades ago, keyboards, bass guitar and drums were allowed, but these have been banned over time.
Additionally, the manner in which music is performed is tightly regulated. Pastor Isaac Noriega advocates that music should not be played for the sake of “performance” or to attract attention. Unfortunately, this stance stifles any form of inspired playing or solos, branding them as worldly indulgences. Talented pianists and organists, for example, are compelled to restrain their creativity, avoiding any form of “jamming” to prevent incurring Isaac’s stern looks or wrath. This directive aims to maintain the music’s “somber and reverent” tone, as anything vibrant or lively is frequently labeled as worldly.
Music performances are therefore quite limited due to these rules. As an example, when song specials are sung, no one is allowed to clap anymore at the conclusion, as this is forbidden by Isaac Noriega. This was not the case years ago, but as Isaac has gotten older, he has continued to find ways to enact stricter and more stifling rules on the congregation.
GDT Church Band
GDT once operated two distinct church bands: a junior band for teenagers and a senior band for singles in their twenties and thirties, a tradition that lasted nearly twenty years. However, due to a decrease in membership caused by band members either getting married or being expelled for rule violations (as it is unusual for married individuals to participate in the church band), these groups were recently merged into a single band. Band practice is mandatory every Saturday morning except for communion weeks. Practice is held on the church campus. The use of sheet music or music theory training is not taught as the vast majority of musicians have learned how to play by ear. Note: some of the older musicians such as Pastor Isaac Noriega’s children, were classically trained, but this is no longer supported by the church.
GDT Church Choir
In the past, GDT organized several choirs catering to different age groups: a children’s choir, a junior choir for teenagers and young adults in their early twenties, and a senior youth choir for single individuals in their twenties and thirties. These choirs engaged in regular practice sessions, typically on Thursday or Friday evenings for the older groups and Saturday mornings for the children’s choir, and performed frequently. A significant number of the children and youth were involved in these choirs. Additionally, there exists a unique choir composed of “spiritual brothers” (endorsed by Isaac Noriega), which includes both single and married men. This choir, led by Deacon Joshua Telles—who initiated it years ago while aspiring for a leadership position—also performed regularly.
In 2009, the junior and senior choirs were consolidated into a single, large choir under the direction of Matthew Norgiea. However, this arrangement was discontinued in 2017. Presently, the choir activities are largely on pause, with only the children’s choir and the so-called spiritual brothers choir performing, and even then, only infrequently and with Isaac Noriega’s approval.
Church Band and Choir as Means of Control
Participation in the choir or band is regarded as a “privilege”, subject to revocation as a form of disciplinary action should the youth break any rules. Given that these activities represent one of the rare opportunities for social interaction among the youth, being removed from them can lead to significant social isolation and distress. Furthermore, the obvious absence of a member from performances, coupled with their sitting in the congregation rather than participating, exposes them to public humiliation. This often becomes a source of speculation and gossip among the more inquisitive church members eager to deduce the cause of the punishment. Consequently, this dynamic has proven to be an effective deterrent, compelling the majority of the youth who are keen to remain in the choir or band to adhere closely to the rules.
Choir rehearsals and performances have experienced periodic interruptions over the years, often as a result of Isaac Noriega’s decisions to disband the choir. He has cited reasons such as congregational sinfulness or members participating in the choir with motives he deems inappropriate—such as pursuing recreational enjoyment, social interactions, or seeking romantic relationships, rather than focusing on worship.
This practice of discontinuing the choir and band activities has served as a form of collective disciplinary measure employed by Isaac, halting these musical engagements for extended periods. This action is taken as a response to his judgment that the congregation’s behavior is overly sinful or when he is particularly displeased with them, thus using the cessation of music ministries as a means to address or highlight these issues.
Conclusion
The progressively more restrictive policies on music, choir, and band at Tabernaculo Emanuel under Isaac Noriega’s leadership merit a closer look, especially when compared to the past. Notably, Isaac’s own children were classically trained musicians—a fact underscored by one of the author’s recollections of attending piano recitals by Matthew Noriega, who performed the very type of classical music his father would later condemn and prohibit. Additionally, there was a time when the church’s band was enhanced by the presence of drums and a bass guitar.
This tightening of restrictions reveals a clear suppression of musical talent within the congregation. Evidence of this suppression can be seen in the flourishing of former members’ musical abilities outside the church’s confines. For instance, one former GDT member has achieved success as a church music director, while another has gained a substantial following as a musician and singer on TikTok, boasting over a million followers. These examples highlight the discrepancy between the church’s current stance on music and the potential of its congregants’ talents.
We invite our readers to ask the following questions:
What motivates the leadership of GDT to suppress and neglect the talents of its younger members?
How is it that the previous generation, including Isaac’s children, were encouraged to nurture their talents, whereas the current generation faces restrictions?
Why does GDT’s leadership choose to deprive its congregation of their remaining joys, like music, choir, and band, as a form of punishment?

Isn’t Jessiah related to Isaac?
Josh Telles always wanted to be a deacon, he has always been power-hungry terrorizing the youth. I see the same goal with Rey’s son.
Who remembers the requirement to fast on the Sundays we would sing as the choir no exceptions. If you didn’t fast you weren’t allowed to sing. Couple of girls fainted. And you had to stay at church all day long. Sitting in your seat or praying at the altar. It never mattered if you were sick. No excuses.
Hearing the songs tho I got this strange feeling of sadness. Of the person I used to be in there.
But now it’s time to deconstruct. And it’s freeing.
Also it’s such a blessing and inspiration to see Jessiah blooming and thriving. He is an exceptional young man who has overcome unimaginable hard circumstances.
Even tho his name is not mentioned ever at GD because it would prove them wrong.
He is too much of a good successful and inspiring story of healing. Not good for the GD propaganda.
This post brings back many fond memories of my youth, there at the beginning of one of the sister churches of Golden Dawn Tabernacle in Buenos Aires, and it makes me understand, unfortunately, the reason behind so many restrictions and obstacles (fears) to the freedom of expression and spirituality of the young.
I remember in the beginning, back in the 80s, we were a lively growing group, most of us were young and we were experiencing a revival, and certainly, a way to express our revival was with singing and music. Every worship meeting was a party of songs, music, noise, and shouting.
Some neighbors complained because we made a lot of noise, but apparently, we didn’t care much.
The “party” had to continue.
The meeting place was very small for the number of people we were, but it didn’t matter, we were in revival.
The sound equipment of 100 watts RMS power at high volume, 2 electric guitars, a small Yamaha portasound organ, a Casio CZ101 synthesizer, and our voices were enough to make all that commotion and revival.
I remember a sister church from Chile, the brethren from Penco, their congregation was larger, their audio equipment smaller, I think it was 30 watts RMS power, so all the sound was saturated (at full power) the guitars distorted, the organ distorted, the voice saturated. The brethren sang at full voice and the music with its 30 watts at full power was unbelievably beautiful to listen to those recordings, we didn’t judge that it could sound like rock n roll or something similar, they were our dear brothers from Penco and we were happy that they have their revival and we enjoyed listening to their worship in the recordings.
When did we leave our genuineness, naturalness, and spirituality? I don’t know. When did fear of freedom and fear of being genuine win us over and we sought to be and copy New York, or Tucson, or another group? I don’t know.
When did we renounce our freedom and genuineness and submit out of fear, to the beliefs of another? I don’t know.
What I do know is that I have to distance myself, or set boundaries, to the jealousy, envy, and alienating insecurities of others, I have enough with my own insecurities and fears to submit to the jealousy and insecurities of another.
I am very sorry for all that you young people had to go through, those born to parents subjected to the enslaving whims of a narcissistic “pastor”.
It took me many years to recognize all this, to become aware and to find the words to describe all this, and to distance myself or set boundaries to so much stupidity and toxicity in the name of God and spirituality.
It saddens me to see these photos, it saddens me to hear these stories, all the traumas, ignorance, manipulations, prejudices, and misjudgments related to music.
I hope that each one can find their own path to healing, freedom of expression, fun and genuineness.
For my part, my passion and enjoyment is music, sound, sounds, recording, editing, having fun, discovering new sounds, remembering old sounds, synthesizers.
I never got caught up with prejudices and judgments about different styles of music. There are songs I like and songs I don’t like, but that’s my personal taste.
When I was young, I loved many contemporary Christian music bands, their songs accompanied me in my moments of work, loneliness, sadness, joy, camaraderie, moments of emotions.
I am very grateful and amazed by those beautiful songs that those bands and singers have created.
They were truly inspirational and comforting. Nowadays, I hardly listen to Christian music anymore, I consider it was good for a stage in my life, today I am in another stage, more mature, I choose what I want and what I like, I no longer associate Christianity with spirituality, and no, I don’t feel lost, I feel found with myself, I feel secure, simply being and living as a human being which is what we are, with all that entails…
And let the narcissists, the jealous and the envious go to the same shit where their insecurities and pretensions dwell.
I’m asking the members or former members of GDT: do you also have a “virtual masked” character, someone who pretends to be different characters on social media and “attacks”, instills fear, tries to discourage young members of the tabernacle from being active on social media? Above all, to “attack” and discourage anyone from making any unfavorable comments about the church or GDT congregation?
Here in Buenos Aires, some young people have told me that there is someone, a person they have already identified, who pretends to be different names on social media, apparently has hacker skills, and gets into or discovers different profiles of the young members of the Shalom tabernacle, and then reports back to the pastor.
Many young and not-so-young people have to have profiles under different names so that this person does not spy on or “attack” them.
I, in particular, have encountered several characters on social media (I suspect it’s the same person). It appears when I make a comment on different social networks about the abuses of authority and power and how worryingly sectarian the Shalom tabernacle is.
However, this news is quite old, surely everything evolves and nowadays other tactics of dominance and control over people are used.
We have a similar problem with GD officials hacking and being little internet detective’s…
The Rich Young Ruler deacon “JLo” used his place of employment’s internet service to try and hack social media accounts of young kids at GD. He was fired for his actions. He’s known as a bully and likes intimidating the young boys of GD.
However I feel for him. His mom told me yrs ago that his deceased dad “ took great pleasure in beating and spanking him”. She also said that when his dad beat him he seemed to “get a high and euphoria” from it.
When this young deacons family came upon millions of dollars in a settlement Isaac Noriega being the serpent that he is turned the abusive dad into a “martyr” and got into poor “JLo’s” head knowing that if he made him a deacon he secured the money.
Pyramid schemes and power plays that can’t be questioned when one claims to speak for God.
You and I know how evil Isaac is to target the little ones using his cameras, teachers and deacons. He knows which kids are sellouts or easy targets. He spotted me as a rebel at a young age. So I know first hand who really rules the household. Parents are nothing more than babysitters, the home is just a daycare owned by Isaac. We’ve all experienced it. When Isaac and his henchmen began to see that we want to choose a different path for ourselves we are made out to be rebellious. No matter how committed you are to Christ you are in sin if it doesn’t involve paying your tithes and being a lifetime GD member
In reality GD is not even a church anymore. It’s exactly like an individual being born in North Korea.
Anything outside the walls of GD is to leave Christ. We are brainwashed from the pulpit and taught that to question Isaac is to question the Lord. We’re taught that everyone who leaves is miserable. Then those who leave and live comfortably are serpent seed and God has let them succeed because they are of the devil.. it’s a win win lie.
It’s similar to the way North Koreans are brainwashed to think they live in the greatest country on earth and the leaders are more divine than the average human.
Ud.
Now I understand why when we were in there we were constantly told that the people that never came back to church were forever lost, went to their real destination ( hell) or that they really wanted to go back but since they had crossed a line God didn’t allow them to ever come back. Now I get it. Now I get it!! And it’s hilarious. If you were born in a free United States why would you leave your freedom to go live in North Korea? It’s common sense. People in there don’t get it. They have never tasted freedom. So they judge us rebels and infidels and worldly and like recently Noriega described us as beasts. Haha but no it’s not that. It’s just freedom to live a normal peaceful life. Without an abusive man over you. The ones that get it get it. Cheers to the ones that have escaped. And many more to come.
… Esta Cañon!!!
I am wondering since this website is about the abuse and mistreatment the church has done, why has no one mentioned the former 3rd grade teacher. S.S. aka psycho/stalker. I am sure we all remember how badly she had treated a former student for his weight and odor. Not to mention how she treated disabled students. It had gotten so bad that the parents had to be involved to take it to the ministry. She criticizes the church and the pastor but ironically, she is EXACTLY like him! They’re both bitter, they both look miserable, they love to mistreat people and play the victim. She needs to look in the mirror and realize that just like the pastor NO ONE likes her or her family and no one wants them at church. And her misery is shown while she’s on her once a month organ duties, despite her and her dad crying for that position after her failed embarrassing engagement with T. Frankly, they should be pitied for having no life other than stalking people’s social media and helping their pedo cousin with this website. I guess failed engagements and failed marriages result in pathetic women sending anonymous messages and letters.

Issac Noriega …..
Yes, you destroy families….. Do you know, that saying… “An eye for an eye”?
This is Jessiah, I would not normally comment on this but it was brought to my attention that I was mentioned, and found an opportunity to share my thoughts. I’ve been silent since my departure from the community, to be clear – I have no interest in stirring up any discord, I do not take any sides with any party regarding anything discussed on this chat or in the church itself, I am an individual who does my best to be guided by the light and love of Our Heavenly Father, my intentions are rooted within the love Christ taught us. I credit any earthly “success” or advancements within my personal development to God who has been faithful to me through all of my ups and down, mistakes, failures, and victories. I would not be where I am today if I held on to unforgivness, bitterness or hatred, I truly believe that “we reap what we sow” I’ve chosen to forgive and love everyone in that assembly to the best of my abilities. And yes there are many flaws within all church systems, but we must Lead by example if we want to see any change, it starts with us deep inside our most inner being we must be sure that we are living out the truth in Love before pointing out anything within others – I do not condone any hatred directed to members of the church, yes I know a lot of people are hurt! Myself included, but the energy you send out is what you will get back! We are to be like Jesus and pray for those who curse us and bless those who pursicute us.
“He that is without sin cast the first stone” this goes for both sides! No man has the power to Judge or declare things that only God can ordain. and the moment we start abusing the authority of God is when we are in danger of stepping out of alignment and misleading people, I think everyone is doing the best they know how – with the revelation they have, we are all on this human journey and the best thing we should do is take care of ourselves first! And love our neighbor as much as we need to be loved ourself.
I truly want everyone reading this to thrive in life! To experience a little bit of heaven while here on earth! I love you all – and pray for healing over your souls! That you may find the peace of mind to rest your spirit within the arms of God.
Everything Good thing comes from God only.
I agree with you that the path to healing post-GD begins with forgiveness.
The passage of scripture you refer to, he who is without sin cast the first stone, isn’t to prevent us from making observations on what is clearly abuse. It is to illustrate to us our place under the moral law of Christ and his Word, and every humans desperate need of salvation.
To be clear, there is ZERO moral equivalence between those that have left the church and the ministry at golden dawn, whose pattern of control and manipulation is no different than any other abusive cult. One is the abuser, the other the victim. After all no one that stands on the truth has the need to separate families in order to make the case for their beliefs. Only those that can’t defend their position and need to prevent those who follow them from hearing an opposing viewpoint need to resort to this.
There are right and wrong ways of doing things. The methods used by the ministry at golden dawn are wrong.
100% TRUE!!!! 🥹
Jessiah, you remind me of myself when I was young; I also dislike hating.
I feel like I’m corrupting my soul when I get caught up in hatreds, revenges, jealousy, and envy.
I always sought other ways to channel frustrating experiences, and yes, I found them. Instead of hating, try to understand.
Instead of being jealous and envious, try to improve at what I do.
Instead of keeping silent, try to find words and speak.
But we can’t be eternally innocent; we can’t be eternally childish. And that’s what was hardest for me, to accept and understand that everything we were taught about God is distorted.
Psychopathy, narcissism, mental illnesses, soul diseases are abundant in this society. The more power and money, it seems we become more dangerous and toxic.
We don’t have to be innocent of these real things.
We don’t have to be innocent of the manipulation done in the name of God.
We don’t have to be innocent of our excessive ambitions, obsessions, jealousy, and envy.
We don’t have to be innocent of psychopathy and the love of power for the sake of dominion.
A life of love, peace, and tranquility is indeed possible, but I assure you the social circle will be very small, and we must not be afraid of losses.
We need to learn to set boundaries and speak clearly about what harms us and what we dislike.
Jessiah, you need to go back to church.
I know it will be hard for you.
But there at the GDT are many that love you and care about you.
It has broken the hearts of your close family to see how you have ended up.
It may seem like fun and fame for you now… But where will you send you eternity?
You need to make your life right and get right with your pastor and family/friends,
the ones who have known you since you were born.
I know that you have broken your mother and sister and brother’s heart.
Think about Jessiah and get right.
Super santas.. super espirituales, y super aburridas… No duro mucho… Grasias a Dios…. Viejas carnalonas…. Es lo que son.

@NOTEHH
what is your problem? You sure have a special hate for this girl. You must still be inside GD. You mention things that must be going on in there. My advice to you is get over her. Heal from that hate. And stop spreading gossip. That’s not what this website is about. Please have some sense of dignity. No one cares about your hate for S.S. If we were to talk about people being evil and wicked. Start with the GD ministry. That’s where the corruption is. Expose the real criminals. Whatever S.S has done or is doing is just a fruit of the spiritual deficiency that GD lives in. Have some grace and love for her. Best of luck.
Sadly, 😔😔😔
This is the spirit of GDT, they eat each other… very normal…
